Cori is an artist, educator and therapist who values trauma informed practices, neurodiversity, cultural humility, and Person-Centered Therapy.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from Longwood University in 2017, and her Master of Science in Art Therapy and Counseling from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2019. During her graduate degree, she completed internships at the Hampton VA Hospital, Riverside School, and Transitions Family Violence Services, giving unique perspectives into military trauma, school-based services, and domestic violence.
Upon graduation, Cori spent her residency in Maine providing Trauma-Systems-Therapy for Refugees/Public School Counseling, and returned to Virginia to provide outpatient services, and complete EMDR Basic Training.
Cori now specializes in providing trauma-informed care to clients of all ages, in individual, family and couples counseling. A typical session begins with a casual check in about the highs and lows of the week. From the check in, we will pick a topic to discuss, incorporate Art Therapy directives, and/or relaxation techniques. Sessions typically end on a positive note, asking what you can do for yourself until the next session.
“As a therapist, my goal is to make our time together as unique to you as possible. Not everything works for everybody, so I invite clients to share feedback and personalize their experience.”
